Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are arguably the most successful American Idol winners of all time, so it’s hardly surprising that the media often seeks to pit them against each other. If you ask them, however, there’s nothing but love.
Kelly and Carrie have been supporting each other for years, and that includes shutting down rumors of a feud between them. So when Star magazine put out a cover story about a “secret feud,” Kelly responded with a funny tweet disputing it.
Kelly Clarkson Responds To Feud Rumors
Kelly shared a photo of the magazine cover, and wondered “why does she get the good pic & I have the worst expression I’ve ever made.” She declared that she has a feud with whoever chose that photo of her. “At least give me a good pic if y’all are gonna be lying is all I’m sayin’.”
A Twitter user suggested that there are no bad pictures of Carrie Underwood, leading another fan to argue that Kelly doesn’t take any bad pictures either. Kelly disagreed, writing, “Lies and deception party for one.”
It’s not the first time Kelly has been self-deprecating about photos of herself. Earlier this year, she shared what she dubbed the worst photo of herself ever taken, with Voice winner Chevel Shepherd following suit.
Carrie Underwood Responds To Kelly Clarkson
Carrie responded to Kelly’s latest tweet, joking about the claim that Kelly’s mother-in-law Reba McEntire had to “step in” to help resolve their differences. “At least @reba is here to save the day!!!” Carrie wrote, along with a GIF of the country star. Now we’re just waiting for Reba herself to weigh in.
It seems pretty clear that rumors of these two talented women being enemies are greatly exaggerated. As Kelly told Entertainment Tonight last year, “We don’t even know each other well enough to be enemies.”
However, one fan had a pretty good suggestion for how to settle the issue — with a duet. We’ve been waiting years for this collaboration. Fingers crossed something happens at next month’s Billboard Music Awards.
