Katy Perry Masters A Major Modeling Test, Says Tyra Banks
GettyImages Does Katy Perry have what it takes to be on top? On Top Model, that is? According to Tyra Banks, the answer is yes. The former America’s Got Talent host posted a photo of theAmerican Idol judge on Instagram and sang her praises.
“Dang,” Tyra started the caption. “@katyperry’s eyes are telling me so many fascinating and fierce stories as she gets lost in the lense [sic] of the camera.” She went on to call Katy “a master of the SMIZE” and said “I brow down” to her brows.
If you’ve ever watched America’s Next Top Model, you know that mastering the smize (smiling with your eyes) is a huge accomplishment. For Katy to get Tyra’s seal of approval is pretty impressive.
And it’s not the first time Tyra has commented on Katy’s model abilities on social media. Back in 2015, when Katy performed at the Super Bowl halftime show, she said she was “living” for the singer’s slicked-back hair. “But damn, it’s slicked tight,” she added. “You know that hurts.” She included the hashtag #BeautyIsPain.
Tyra also linked to an interview with fashion designer Jeremy Scott about Katy’s quick costume changes during the halftime show. We’re ready for Katy to be a guest judge on Top Model one of these days so Tyra can share her admiration in person.
With Tyra apparently moving on from her America’s Got Talent hosting duties, she might free up some time to focus on Top Model. Maybe Katy is giving her inspiration for the next season.
As for the “California Girl” herself, she recently got engaged to Orlando Bloom, and will soon return to the judging table when American Idol premieres its new season Sunday, March 3, at 8/7 c on ABC.
