Julianne Hough’s Ex-Boyfriend Confesses: ‘We Made A Pact Together To Basically Lie’ About The Breakup
ABC Before marrying and filing for divorce from husband Brooks Laich, Julianne Hough dated singer Chuck Wicks. The relationship came crumbling down in 2009 after the pair were partnered together on Dancing With The Stars. Now he is setting the record straight about what actually caused their breakup.
Chuck Wicks Revealed New Details About Breakup With Julianne Hough
Chuck opened up on his podcast called Talk To Chuck about the demise of this relationship. He debunked the belief that the two first met on Dancing With The Stars. “We met on tour” the 41-year-old confirmed. “We were out touring with Brad Paisley. We were both loving life.” They were already a couple when they danced together on Dancing With The Stars in 2009. They finished the competition in sixth place.
“We were on a high because both [of our] careers were going great,” he said. “We bought a house together, we did all these things and then out of nowhere, you find out that they are not the person that you thought they were. And you break up. And then everybody wants to know why.” The pair were together for about a year before calling it quits.

“And, you know, I found myself doing a CMA red carpet and we made a pact together to basically lie, to say, no, we just wanted to part ways, everything’s fine. It wasn’t fine. Sh*t hit the fan” he confessed.
Chuck And Julianne Have Both Moved On With Their Lives After Split
After they split, they were seen getting cozied up together at the CMAs in 2009. “You know, I’m not going to throw anybody under the bus but it wasn’t my fault,” Chuck said. “So you find yourself when you’re in love, everything’s great, people are loving watching you on Instagram, oh this is the perfect couple, couple goals and all this stuff. But then, man, if something goes wrong you gotta face that too.”
“When Julianne and I broke up … I was like, ‘When am I going to see her?’ Because I played the game,” he said. “In the public eye, I was like, ‘Oh, man, it’s great.’ But actually, I didn’t really like her at the time.” In the past 10 years, Chuck has only seen Julianne one time. “She’s very successful” he finished off the rant.
But all of this has been left in the past as the two have moved on with their lives respectively. Julianne married Brooks in 2017 and the pair have had a pretty rocky relationship as of late. They separated five months ago before she filed for divorce last month. The former ‘AGT: Champions’ judge had divorce rumors swirling when it was revealed she and Brooks were quarantining separately amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Chuck went on to marry Kasi Williams last year and the pair welcomed their son Tucker Elliott this month.
