In sad news, Jennifer Lopez’s ex-boyfriend David Cruz has passed away at age 51. According to TMZ, David died on Saturday of heart disease. He and Jennifer were together at the start of her career.
David was Jennifer’s high school sweetheart, as she started dating him when she was 15 years old. They were together for around ten years, breaking up in the mid-’90s.

Although Jennifer and David broke up at the start of her career, she spoke fondly of him later on. In 2004, she reportedly said, “He’s a friend and he probably knows me better than anyone else.”
Jennifer has yet to comment on the news of David’s death. However, his partner of 18 years, Isa, gave a touching statement to TMZ about him.
“He was kind and loving. He never held on to anything and was always very open. He was a devoted father, he helped raise his step-son who is now in the Marines. He loved the Yankees and Knicks. He loved going to the theatre with me. My favorite moment was family date night, because it wasn’t just special for me but for the kids as well. He always made sure to end things with an ‘I love you.'”
