It’s all come down to this. Tonight James Graham Wins The Four Season 2. The British heartthrob has been a fan favorite since the first episode. He was eliminated two weeks ago but came back the very next episode and got his seat back. Tonight, he won the whole shebang.

When the season premiered and we met the original Four, which included James and Sharaya J, Mel and I looked at each other and said that James was going to win it. But we figured he wouldn’t make it to the end. Not because he wasn’t great, but rather because judging from last season we figured he wouldn’t last long. The Four had a revolving door situation going on last year. Much to our surprise, not only James but also Sharaya were in the finale.

Which isn’t to say that James was always perfect. In the middle weeks of the show he let his success get to his head a little bit. He made some bad song choices. I love James but, let’s face it, he got cocky. And as we all know pride comes before the fall and that is exactly what happens. James was eliminated two weeks ago. He then came back in last week’s episode and snatched his seat back.

Tonight, he started out by singing Rock With You by Michael Jackson, his hero. It was…not great. I don’t know why because he should have murdered this song. Diddy said it best, “I didn’t like that at all.” Yeah. I agree. But this was just the first song, luckily things got better.

Then he knew he had to come back with something fantastic…and he did. He covered his fellow Brit Adele and her song Hello. You DO NOT attempt Adele unless you can kill it. He pulled out his secret weapon: that killer falsetto. He overcame his natural British inclination to hide his emotions and spilled it all on the stage. That’s why he was able to beat Leah, who was incredible.

But now it gets serious. James goes up against Sharaya who is, let’s face it, is a fire breathing dragon of hip hop skills. Sharaya has been, consistently, incredible in every performance. As always, she KILLED. But then he sang a hit by another Brit, Fix You by Coldplay. And well…sang it better than Coldplay. AND THAT’S why he won.
