Jake Hoot: How This One Chair Turn Won ‘The Voice’
He was the sole remaining country singer standing on The Voice Season 17 and even before the finale Jake Hoot had an entire genre’s worth of fans rallying behind him towards victory. We at Talent Recap already called his victory but he barely made it to the show.
Jake Hoot was a one chair turn and although we are surprised Blake Shelton did not turn to his amazing country tune, we are glad Kelly Clarkson did!
Streams already had Jake Hoot winning
His victory was made imminent because of how big a role streaming plays in making it so. A big part of winning The Voice is getting maximum people to stream your songs on Apple Music all fans were hooting to victory.
Streams give you an idea of which artist is the most connected to their fans. But their is a catch you might not know about, streams also tell you which artists will most likely win because the most streamed artist gets those votes multiplied by 5. Each week and for 4 weeks Jake Hoot was dominating the game.
Even though Monday night Ricky Duran was the most streamed artist, it was a little too late for Ricky by then. How does that feel Blakey? Not too good I bet.
How Jake Hoot won the voice was consistency, consistency and country fan that just love and love. Jake clearly had a leg up on the competition in that department; he was the most-streamed artist 4 weeks in a row and his songs hit #1 on both the “Country” and “All Genres” charts!
