ITV Cracks Down On Simon Cowell’s Disastrous ‘X Factor’ Ratings — Is It The END?
It’s become an online fiasco ever since Cowell’s ‘X Factor’ franchise fell to pieces. Although he’ll defend its place in the TV talent show industry, ‘The Band’ is his last chance for redemption. Mess this one up, Simon and you may have to ditch the UK show altogether.
ITV gives Simon Cowell one last chance ahead of ‘The Band’ trailer release
‘X Factor: The Band’ has released it’s an official trailer for the upcoming show set to air on ITV in just a few days’ time. Both Simon and Nicole, along with guest judge Leona Lewis are out to find the next biggest boy & girl band.
In a new and improved way of sending a contestant to the live shows, the judges will be handing out stamped invites during auditions. Now, if you’ve ever seen Idol, we suspect it follows a similar premise to the iconic ‘golden ticket to Hollywood’.
‘The Search’ is already looking to be the favorite show
It was also reported today that ‘The Search’, rival show to ‘The Band’ received way more audition applications as 87,000 were put through ahead of the 2020 air date.
Here’s what we’re expecting from ‘X Factor’ in 2020
The answer is very clear not much. A show insider commented on ITV’s current negotiations about Cowell’s UK singing show:
“The days of the four month X Factor Saturday night domination are well and truly over. If the show returns at all next year it will be for a handful of episodes.”Insider (X Factor)
Talent Recap POLL RESULTS: Should Simon Cowell cancel X Factor?
We opened a poll out to our Talent Recap YouTube subscribers to ask them what they thought should happen to the show… here are the results of 3.2K votes!
Should Simon Cowell just cancel X Factor because of low ratings?
NO, I still watch it! — 28%
YES, I am bored of it! — 72%
Is it the same story for Britain’s Got Talent?
No. BGT‘s new deal with ITV is expected to be extended for yet another 5 years. So BGT fans, there’s nothing to worry about. If anything, ITV will be trying their hardest to put a big emphasis on this show next year instead of ‘X Factor’.
For the first time in quite a while, BGT will face some big competitors this year. ‘The Masked Singer’ and ‘The Search’ will both air before BGT even hits our screens and both are expected to do very well in the ratings. Before 2019, BGT and Strictly Come Dancing have been the main frontrunners in TV talent shows, but it’s about to get even more competitive when 2020 comes along!
‘X Factor: The Band’ starts Monday, 9th December on ITV.
