Idina Menzel To Join ‘American Idol’ for Disney Night

 

American Idol is on ABC which is owned by Disney. So, it’s absolutely no surprise that Disney would want to get some of that sweet corporate synergy going by making American Idol do a Disney-themed episode. The great Idina Menzel will act as a mentor that night as the contestants take on some Disney classics.

Menzel famously sang Let It Go in the hugely popular Frozen so she knows a thing or two about belting out some Disney tunes. In the last few Disney animated films there have been some real showstopper numbers like How Far I’ll Go from Moana, for example. I wonder who will sing what. Catie Turner doing The Bear Necessities from The Jungle Book? Ada Vox singing Poor Unfortunate Soul from The Little Mermaid? And who is going to do Let it Go? My money is on Gabby Barrett.

I like Disney films, some of them any way, but I’m not one of those people who are obsessed with it. I have several friends with no kids who either went to Disneyworld for their honeymoon or go there regularly. I don’t get it.
