Here’s What You Need To Know About Kelly Clarkson’s Upcoming Talk Show

As you may or may not have heard, Kelly Clarkson is getting her own daytime talk show. The American Idol winner shows off her lovable personality on The Voice and in concert, so it makes sense that she should have her own show.
If you’re wondering how the show came about, when it will premiere, and what Kelly herself has to say about it, read on for more information.
How Did Kelly Clarkson Get A Talk Show?
Kelly filmed the pilot for her talk show last year. As of April, the show had been picked up in 99% of the country. Deadline reports that it was sold to over 200 stations.
The show will be called The Kelly Clarkson Show. Kelly and her husband Brandon Blackstock are producers on the show.
When Does The Show Premiere?
The Kelly Clarkson Show will premiere September 9, 2019, on NBC, and will be a lead-in to The Ellen DeGeneres Show. It was announced earlier this month that the show will replace Steve Harvey’s talk show Steve.
What Will The Show Be Like?
There will obviously be a lot of talking involved with Kelly’s celebrity guests. “I love talking, it’s like my favorite pastime,” Kelly told Jimmy Fallon. “It’s hard for me to shut up, though. Like, you know, you have to listen to people that come on your show.”
The show will also be very musical. Her band will appear on the show, and she’ll be singing in every episode, with fans being able to request songs. She also shared that she “got people to sing with me and do little skits” in the pilot episode, so we imagine that will be a running theme.
According to Variety, the show will also feature segments about “everyday people,” as well as lifestyle content. “The show is going to be the essence of Kelly — fun, funny, upbeat, disarming. Equal parts humor and heart,” executive producer Alex Duda told the publication.
Who Will Appear In The First Episode?
“In the pilot, we did a lot of serious conversations that I feel are important, especially as a mom,” Kelly told Entertainment Tonight about what to expect from the show’s first episode.
The first episode taped last August, and ET reported that guests included Chloe Grace Moretz, Josh Groban and Terry Crews. A group of quilting women also reportedly appeared, as well as a homeless shelter employee and a couple having intimacy issues.
Kelly also reportedly interviewed This Is Us star Chrissy Metz, and told Extra that it was “the hardest thing I will ever do.” Kelly had just lost her father at the time, and no one knew but her husband. She spoke to Chrissy about her own father, and their “similar” situations. It’s sure to be an emotional interview.
