Earlier this week, Heidi Klum left the set of AGT after feeling sick. Although the fellow judges speculated it was food poisoning, new reports say otherwise. Considering the current coronavirus pandemic, it’s not the best timing.
A second update on Heidi’s condition confirmed that she missed another day of shooting on Wednesday, and revealed the celebrity guest judge who’s filling in for her on the panel.
Eric Stonestreet To Fill In For Heidi Klum On ‘AGT’
Deadline posted an update on Heidi’s condition on Wednesday, explaining that sources are calling Heidi’s illness a “common cold,” not coronavirus. The show went on without her, as Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet took her place on the panel.
Eric will be joining his Modern Family co-star Sofia Vergara, who is a new judge on Season 15 of AGT. We have a feeling their familiar rapport will make for some entertaining moments as they judge this season’s contestants.
Eric posted a photo with Sofia on Instagram, writing that it was “super fun and unexpected day” on the panel. “As a fan of the show, it was a real treat to be there,” he wrote. “And it’s always great to be reunited with my former co-worker.”
Celebrities Who Have Gotten Coronavirus
Heidi’s condition may just be a common cold, but that doesn’t mean famous people are immune to coronavirus. Notably, actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have contracted the disease while working in Australia.
Meanwhile, the NBA has suspended the current season until further notice after player Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz tested positive for coronavirus.
AGT is reportedly still filming in front of a live audience in spite of coronavirus fears. Many other shows, such as Jeopardy! and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, have announced that they will film without in-person viewers.
We’ll have to wait and see if AGT makes a similar announcement — or if judge Howie Mandel’s germaphobia will drive him off the panel as well.
