He Won ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ At The Age Of 14 But Can He WOW ‘The Voice’ Judges?

Jack Vidgen really has conquered all reality talent competitions. He won Australia’s Got Talent in 2011 when he was just 14-years-old. He overcame a lot of changes with his voice that caused him to take a break from singing altogether. Jack made his return to singing when he auditioned for The Voice Australia with a stunning Adele cover in 2019.
Talent Show Veteran Jack Vidgen Blew Everyone Away On ‘The Voice Australia’
When Jack first appeared on Australia’s Got Talent and announced that he would be singing “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston, the judges were not expecting much. But Jack blew them away with his vocal control and ability to hit some really high notes. After his audition, the judges predicted that he would win the show. And they were right!
After taking about a five-year hiatus, he made his return to television on The Voice Australia. “I wasn’t enjoying it and wasn’t loving singing for people anymore,” he told Yahoo Lifestyle. He never thought he would get back up on a stage again to sing especially after receiving death threats from bullies. But thankfully, Jack decided to continue to share his musical talents with the world and not let them try and bring him down any longer. In 2019, Jack who is already well known appeared on The Voice Australia and was selected for Guy Sebastian’s team after getting a four-chair turn.

Jack Has Gone On To Compete In Other Talent Competitions
This led up to his appearance on America’s Got Talent: The Champions where he impressed all of the judges including Simon Cowell who wanted even more from his performance. “I think you have an extraordinary voice but that was way too safe,” he said. “I think you are way, way better than that so I’m hoping the superfans vote you through to the next round because there’s way more to come from you, way more,” he continued. But unfortunately, Jack did not make it to the next round.
At Australia Decides in 2020, Jack got to perform an emotional original ballad called “I Am King I AM Queen” hoping it would earn him the chance to perform at Eurovision. He wore a black outfit and even donned a little bit of makeup. But it was singer Montaigne that brought home the win. Jack’s competition included pop star Vanessa Amorosi and Australian Idol powerhouse Casey Donovan. In an Instagram post, he referred to his time in the songwriting competition as “magical.”
He even posted that he is looking forward to the day where he can sing in front of a crowd again. The coronavirus pandemic has halted a lot of people’s plans especially musicians who were looking to perform at crowded venues. But Jack has hope that concerts will become a reality soon enough. Recently, he has been doing a bit of modeling proving that there is nothing he can’t do.
