After they attended a Los Angeles Black Lives Matter protest, Harry Styles’ friend took a dig at his rumored ex-girlfriend Kendall Jenner on social media. The comments take aim at Kendall for a controversial advertisement she starred in.

Harry and Kendall were rumored to be dating in 2013, after he broke up with Taylor Swift. The two remain friends, and even appeared on James Corden’s “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” segment together last year.

Harry Styles’ Friend Disses Kendall Jenner

Harry’s friend Amy Nicole Marietta shared a photo on Instagram stories featuring her, Harry, and others posing together at a recent Black Lives Matter protest. Apparently some fans thought one of the people in the photo was Kendall Jenner.

Amy shut down that rumor by writing, “For those wondering if any of us are Kendall – no lol. She was not at the protest. She was looking for a Pepsi.”Harry Styles Joins Black Lives Matter Protest Amongst Thousands in Los Angeles

The remark is a reference to a controversial 2017 Pepsi commercial Kendall Jenner starred in. In the ad, Kendall leaves a photo shoot to join a protest. She then approaches a police officer at the protest and hands him a Pepsi.

Many people objected to the ad, leading it to be taken down by Pepsi with the statement, “Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark and apologize.”

How Has Kendall Jenner Supported Black Lives Matter?

Kendall tearfully addressed the Pepsi controversy in a 2017 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. She said she felt “stupid” afterward, and added that it wasn’t her “intent” to hurt or offend anyone.

Despite Amy’s dig at her, Kendall Jenner hasn’t remained silent about current issues. Earlier this week, she posted a long message on Instagram in which she acknowledges her white privilege and said she “will continue to educate myself on how I can help.”

Kendall closed her post by encouraging her followers to vote and writing that “the one truth that will always ring loudest is that BLACK LIVES MATTER.” She also posted a black square on her page for Blackout Tuesday. On Twitter, she shared a petition for Justice for George Floyd.
