‘American Idol’s Haley Reinhart Headlines Show at The Troubadour
Haley Reinhart was a fan favorite on Season 10 of American Idol. After placing third on the show, behind Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina, she has made a name for herself in the music industry. From signing record deals to recording jazz covers of popular songs to doing voiceovers and now headlining The Troubadour for the first time ever tonight, we’re taking a look at what she’s been up to since her third-place finish!
After ‘Idol,’ Haley signed a record deal with 19/Interscope Records in 2011. Her debut album “Listen Up!” was met with critical acclaim. Shortly after, she became the first American Idol alumna to perform at Lollapalooza. Even with the success of that album, she was dropped by Interscope at the end of 2012 due a change in management.
Haley got another big break in 2015, performing and touring with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox. Her jazzy cover of “Creep” is the most viewed video the channel has ever uploaded, with over 49 million views. The collaboration also spent 58 consecutive weeks on Billboard’s Jazz digital charts. In fact, the first three of Postmodern Jukebox’s most popular uploads feature Haley Reinhart. An “All About That Bass” cover is the second most viewed, with 39 million, and “Seven Nation Army” is third with over 24 million views.
Haley also made her voice acting debut in that same year. She cold auditioned for the gig and was selected to voice Bill Murphy in Netflix’s “F is for Family.” Haley has since reprised the role in the second season, which came out in 2017.
‘American Idol’ Star Continues to Soar
On the music side, she released her second album, “Better,” in April of 2016. The album debuted at #22 on Billboard’s “Independent Albums” chart. She went on a summer tour to promote it throughout the US, then took the show to Europe. In September 2017, Haley released a third album, called “What’s That Sound?” through Concord Records. Concord is also the record label supporting Fantasia Barrino, Javier Colon, Lindsey Stirling, and Postmodern Jukebox!
Since then, Haley has been working on writing and recording new music. Just a few weeks ago, on June 1st, she released a new single called “Last Kiss Goodbye.” This is the first single from her upcoming new studio album, planned for release later this year. Los Angeles’s KCAL and KTLA interviewed Haley to talk about her new single and tour.
About her new song and music, Haley said:
I want people to be able to just kinda ease their minds and relax and enjoy the summer vibes that we got going on in the video.
And about her upcoming debut as a headliner at The Troubadour, an iconic Los Angeles venue, she said:
That’s such a legendary spot, so many of my favorite icons, rock legends like The Doors, have played there so it’ll be cool to be doing a headlining show.
When introducing her new single on-air, she described it simply:
“Last Kiss Goodbye” is a really sweet, short little love tune…kind of a Brazilian feel, bossa nova.
Keep an eye out for more new music from Haley later this year! And if you’re in LA, it’s not too late to see Haley headlining The Troubadour tonight! The show starts at 8:00pm.
