Gwen Stefani Reveals The Adorable Way Blake Shelton Proposed & Why It’s Not On Video
YouTube Gwen Stefani made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show and dished on her engagement to Blake Shelton. She told Kelly Clarkson about the adorable way Blake proposed surrounded by their closest family members. Plus, she answers the ultimate question about why the proposal was not recorded on video.
Gwen Stefani Detailed Blake Shelton’s Adorable Proposal
The pair quarantined together with their families at Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma. They planned another trip back to Oklahoma but Gwen said that it got pretty overwhelming to the point that she almost wanted to cancel the trip. “His sister and her family they were there, my kids were there and my brother and his family we were all there” Gwen started.
Blake and Gwen are building a house on the Oklahoma property so they were going to go from one part of the land to the other part of the land. “And meanwhile I guess Blake had this ring ready to go for like a couple of weeks and nobody knew,” she said. Gwen’s dad did know about the proposal because Blake had asked him for Gwen’s hand in marriage on her 51st birthday, October 3rd. Kelly said that Blake is “so old-fashioned” for doing that.

Gwen said that right before the proposal there were so many things happening with family members saying they had to get back to the main property to cook and one of her sons saying they had to use the bathroom. “And I walked in and my son was like sitting right by this fireplace and Blake was basically getting down on his knees to do a fire and he goes ‘hey can you look in that cabinet over there and get me a firestarter’ so I open the cabinet and there was a ring in a box.”
Why Wasn’t Blake And Gwen’s Proposal Captured On Video?
Gwen said that she was freaking out about the proposal in a good way. “Everybody came running around because I guess they heard us screaming and crying and there was no video, my sister in law to be was just shooting pictures and that’s that photo that we put out,” she said. Blake and Gwen announced their engagement to the world at the end of October with an adorable kissing photo on Instagram. She called it a “magical moment.”
Kelly told her fellow ‘Voice’ coach that it’s “pretty cool” that the proposal was not captured on video because their lives are always on video. But Gwen had other thoughts about it. “Kelly it’s not cool that it’s not on video,” Gwen said through a smile before saying that she was kidding.

Gwen previously opened up about the difficulties of planning a wedding amid the pandemic because she does not want to have any restrictions placed upon the big day. Instead, she told Ryan Seacrest that the couple wants to wait to ensure that they can have their families there safely.
