Girlfriend Begs Hotel Staff To Check In On Actor Bert Belasco Where He Was Found Dead At 38

Bert Belasco who starred in the BET series Let’s Stay Together was found dead on November 8 in a Richmond, Virginia hotel room. Bert had been quarantining in the hotel amid the coronavirus pandemic where he was getting ready to film a new movie.

Bert’s girlfriend first grew concerned when she could not get a hold of him. She asked the hotel staff if they could go check on him and they found him dead. According to TMZ, there was blood on the bed sheets in the room. However, no cause of death has been revealed as his family awaits an autopsy report. His father Bert Belasco Sr. told TMZ that he thinks his son “suffered a fatal aneurysm.” Quarantining was required before Bert could start shooting the film on set.

Bert also had roles in shows like Superstore, The Mick, NCIS and so many others. He also starred in a very memorable Super Bowl commercial with acting legend Betty White. He played the character of Charles Whitmore on Let’s Stay Together which aired from 2011 to 2014. Bert went on to score a role in Fox’s Pitch where he played Sonny Evers along with a role in The Big Show Show which was cancelled by Netflix after one season.
Bert’s Co-Stars Have Posted Tributes To The Late Actor After News Of His Death
Bert was loved by many in the entertainment world and his former co-stars payed tribute to him on social media. “Heartbroken at the passing of Bert Belasco – a talented, kind young man who I had the pleasuring of working with numerous times on #LetsStayTogether. Squeeze your loved ones tight! Tomorrow is never promised” actress Jackée Harry wrote on Twitter.
“This is me and my dear friend #BertBelasco who just passed away at 38. No day is promised. Please let the ones you love KNOW that you love them today, right now. Any moment could be your last. #RIP you dear, kind, gentle man” actress Yvette Nicole Brown wrote alongside a picture of the pair together.
Bert’s Let’s Stay Together co-star RonReaco Lee wrote: “Beyond saddened by the sudden passing of Bert Belasco. One of the kindest people I’ve ever met. If you knew Bert, you knew 2 things: He loved the movie Ghostbusters and he LOVED acting. Bert loved acting more than any actor I’ve ever met. And he was DAMN good at it too. There wasn’t a scene we shared that I didn’t enjoy. My prayers are with his Dad, his Step Mom and the rest of his family and friends. Rest well my Brother…certainly gone too soon. #castmates4life.”
