Former America’s Got Talent judge, Gabrielle Union is allegedly filing a lawsuit against Simon Cowell. This comes after one particular issue that Union could not let go of regarding Simon’s smoking on the set of America’s Got Talent. Is Gabrielle overreacting? We’ll let you be the judge of that.
Gabrielle Union in the process of suing Simon Cowell for smoking on AGT set
Gabrielle Union was far from happy with her experience on AGT and has supposedly initiated an entire investigation into the show. Something the actress won’t let go of however is Simon’s smoking habits on set.
For many years, it’s been known that Cowell had a habit of smoking in between commercial breaks when filming. And, although most of his colleagues seem to reason with him on it, Union believes it has ‘put her life in danger’. Here’s what an Insider said to the Daily Mail about the lawsuit.
‘Gabrielle was always cross that Simon would smoke when the cameras weren’t running. For her, this is a big deal. She believes his smoking has put her life in danger. It can cause cancer and she doesn’t think she deserves to have been at risk when she was at work. This lawsuit will be sent to Simon at any moment. She is determined to see this one through.’
In addition, it’s been reported that Gabrielle Union has employed attorney, Bryan Freedman to represent her in this lawsuit against Cowell. Freedman has worked with many high profile celebrities in the past including Megan Kelly and Jennifer Aniston.
Simon Cowell has tried to cut down smoking for years
One habit Cowell is finding particularly hard to handle is smoking. Ever since he became a TV icon, he’s been open about his smoking addiction. Back in 2013, he publicly announced he was trying to get off the cigarettes on Twitter. Nevertheless, it seems the plan to switch to the e-cigarettes didn’t work.
