A Timeline Of Heidi Klum’s ‘AGT’ Absence
March 10, 2020: Heidi leaves the set.
While filming auditions for Season 15, Heidi arrived to set and felt sick. She recently told Kelly Clarkson that she had a fever and a cough, as well as body aches. Heidi told someone immediately, and was examined by a medic. She was then sent home. The judges continued for the day without Heidi on the panel, telling the audience Heidi may have gotten food poisoning.
March 11, 2020: Eric Stonestreet fills in.
Heidi missed another day of shooting, and actor Eric Stonestreet filled in for her on the judges’ panel, alongside his Modern Family co-star Sofia Vergara. Heidi had already hit her Golden Buzzer for Cristina Rae before leaving the show, so Eric didn’t end up sending anyone straight through to the live shows.
March 13, 2020: Heidi thinks she has COVID-19.
Heidi updated fans on her Instagram story about her condition. She said her symptoms started with “a chill, feeling feverish, cough, runny nose.” Fever and cough are two symptoms of COVID-19. She said she was staying home to protect people, but shared that she was having trouble getting a coronavirus test.
March 14, 2020: Heidi and her husband get tested.
Heidi Klum’s husband Tom Kaulitz returned from his band’s tour feeling sick, so the couple decided to self-isolate. They were able to get tested for COVID-19, and Heidi said they were awaiting their results.
March 17, 2020: Heidi’s husband tests negative.
Heidi responded to an Instagram comment saying her husband Tom Kaulitz tested negative for coronavirus. She added that she would get her own test results later in the week.
March 25, 2020: Heidi reveals her test results.
It took a long time for Heidi to reveal the results of her coronavirus test. We started to wonder if maybe she tested positive and was hiding the results. However, she eventually posted that she’d spent 14 days at home, and tested negative for coronavirus.
April 2020: Heidi judges ‘AGT’ from home.
At the end of April, the judges appeared remotely from their homes to judge the last auditions for Season 15. Because Heidi Klum was feeling better at this point, she was able to join in on the fun. These remote auditions are predicted to air in the July 14 episode of AGT.
June 16, 2020: First ‘AGT’ episode without Heidi airs.
Heidi appeared in the first few episodes of the current America’s Got Talent season. However, she disappeared part of the way through the June 23rd episode, and the show continued with only three judges on the panel. In the next episode, Eric Stonestreet joined the panel.
June 24, 2020: Judge Cuts begin filming.
After months away from set, the AGT judges came back together last month to film a Judge Cuts episode. They stayed socially distant and judged acts remotely. Heidi was present for the shoot, making it the first time she and her fellow judges were together since March. Judge Cuts will reportedly air on July 28.
