Remember Celine Tam from Season 12 of America’s Got Talent? She was just 9 years old at the time of her audition, and she blew the judges away with her incredible singing voice.
In 2019, Celine appeared on another Got Talent stage. She competed in World’s Got Talent, a Chinese show that brought together Got Talent stars from around the globe. Celine performed an original song and earned the Golden Buzzer.
Celine Tam Auditions For ‘World’s Got Talent’
Celine Tam is originally from Hong Kong. She and her little sister Dion were named after the iconic singer Celine Dion, and she definitely lives up to her name. Celine has been singing since she was just 3 years old.
At the time of her World’s Got Talent audition, Celine was 11. She performed an original song called “Who I Am,” earning a standing ovation from the judges. “You have such a bright future ahead of you,” judge David Foster told Celine. “You sing perfectly in tune. I love that.”
Judge Xie Na said it was better than Celine’s previous performances, calling it “the best performance I’ve seen.” Singer Coco Lee said she was “proud” of Celine and added that the song she wrote is “complex.”
Meanwhile, David Foster added that he would make it his “mission” for her to meet Celine Dion. Wu Junmei said she related to the song, and chose to hit the Golden Buzzer for Celine’s performance. This marked Celine’s second-ever Golden Buzzer. She teared up as the confetti rained down.
Celine Got Her First Golden Buzzer On ‘AGT’
Celine auditioned for AGT with a performance of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.” She earned four “yes” votes from the judges, and went on to sing Michael Bolton’s “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” for the Judge Cuts.
Guest judge Laverne Cox loved the performance so much that she hit the Golden Buzzer for Celine. “You are so adorable and so cute, and your voice is amazing,” Laverne told Celine before hitting the buzzer.
Celine Tam made it to the semifinals of AGT Season 12. On World’s Got Talent, her Golden Buzzer sent her straight to the Top 8, although she didn’t end up winning the competition.
Celine recently turned 13 years old. You can follow her on YouTube, where she frequently posts covers.
