Is Fox Wishing Failure On ‘American Idol’?
You know when you break up with somebody and you don’t want to be with them anymore but you also don’t want them to move on with their lives or be happy? I think that’s what’s going on with Fox and the ABC reboot of American Idol. Because Fox sure hates that show now.
Back in the glory days of American Idol the show was a cash cow for Fox. They made a redonkulous amount of money off Idol and its spin-offs in other countries. But like relationships sometimes do, their love faded. By the end of Idol‘s original run they weren’t doing so good in the ratings. Soon, Fox cancelled the show but thought that maybe someday it would be revived. That’s when Idol’s owners Freemantle Media sold it to Disney and ABC. Now, scrambling to show they can move on to, Fox came up with The Four.
