Fox Launches Competition Music Series To Rival ‘American Idol’
Just as the American Idol reboot gears up to start taping for it’s Spring 2018 release, Fox, (which used to air American Idol) is planning a rival reality music competition show. It should air about the same time and has an intriguing twist on the genre. It is called The Four: Battle For Stardom.
The way it will work is that four finalists start off on the show. Then, each week, the judges bring on competitors to try and replace them. The last person standing will win. Fox partnered with music juggernaut iHeartMedia which produces IHeartRadio and large concert events full of stars. They can probably attract a large audience that may not necessarily be into reality music competition shows. Also iHeartMedia has the hook-ups with all big celebs for both hosting and guest starring.
It will be interesting to see which program the audience picks. Much like The Highlander, there can be only one.
