For 37-Years Man Sang In Subway But Will He Impress Simon Cowell On ‘America’s Got Talent’?

Mike Yung came to America’s Got Talent to show everyone his incredible voice that he had been using as his main source of income on the subway for years. He would literally sing on the subways from morning to night and tackled “Unchained Melody” for his season 12 audition.
Mike Yung Shared His Story About Singing On The Subway With The Judges
The judges were completely taken aback at the fact that Mike had been singing on the subway for 37 years. Simon Cowell asked him what the low point was during his singing career. “The low point is on a Monday or a Tuesday, you don’t make that much. But people get paid on Thursday or Friday and they make up for it” Mike said laughing. “Success is what you make it. There’s no better stage. There’s no better place to be than right here” he said enthusiastically about his America’s Got Talent audition. Mike recieved a standing ovation from all of the judges after his performance.

“First of all I want to say I liked it even though at times it sounded a little rough around the edges,” Heidi Klum said. “I didn’t mind it because I could feel every word you sang really meant something and I think that’s also very important.” Howie loved the roughness in Mike’s voice. “If this show could give you the next level of fame I’m telling you the train has left the building.” Mel B said Mike has to bridge the gap between singing on the subway and singing on America’s Got Talent. Simon Cowell called him “the real deal.” Mike made it to the Semifinals of ‘AGT’ before he was eliminated.
Where Is He Now?
In late 2019, Mike fell victim to a death hoax but went on social media to say the rumors were false. After his time on the show, his wife Lydia died suddenly. He posted a tribute to her with the song “My Girl.” “I’m just finding the strength again to come back and sing again. It’s been a tough year and I haven’t been doing much. Thank you everyone for being patient with me” he wrote in an Instagram caption. His children then encouraged him to try for a second chance at making his dreams come true on ‘AGT: The Champions.’
He performed an original song called “Dreamer.” He was eliminated in the preliminaries.
Although Mike hasn’t tweeted regularly since early 2019, when he was on tour, he has since returned to the platform to tweet about the Black Lives Matter movement. He wrote that he hopes his music “is able to bring us together.” Mike also brought his band to the park to perform a very feel-good song.
