Cowell’s career skyrocketed after the massive success of American Idol on FOX. He became known as the sarcastic judge that always gave honest reviews, even if they weren’t always the nicest. Sitting alongside him in the beginning of the series was Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.

I think it goes without saying that Cowell is still one of the biggest names in talent shows to this day. At 62 years old he’s still on top of his judging game. Even though he’s no longer on American Idol, he remains as a judge of American Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent. On top of judging the shows we know and love, he recently was on the judging panel for the AGT spin off series, AGT: Extreme.
Simon Cowell’s AGT: Extreme
Cowell began 2022 off with a pretty packed schedule. In January he joined the AGT: Extreme judging panel after production had been paused due to an on stage accident. Soon after wrapping AGT:Extreme, the judge flew to the United Kingdom. Since returning to the U.K. he has been working alongside Amanda Holden, David Walliams, and Alesha Dixon on the next season of Britain’s Got Talent.
AGT: Extreme is set to premiere on NBC on February 21 and run for 4 weeks. At this time, Britain’s Got Talent has not announced a premiere date for the upcoming season. Instead, they’ve shared that the series will drop later in 2022, which could mean anything.
Right now, NBC has not shared any information about the upcoming 17th season of America’s Got Talent. While this is the series fans mostly want to see Cowell in, nothing has been confirmed about the upcoming season. While it’s a great sign that auditions are ongoing in 2022, will AGT be delayed based off of another series Cowell is in?
