First Look At Spicy Sofia Vergara As ‘America’s Got Talent’ Premiere Date Is Set!
NBC The upcoming 15th season of America’s Got Talent with new judge Sofia Vergara, along with Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel, and host Terry Crews, debuts on May 26 at 8 PM ET/PT on NBC. COVID 19 will not change the anticipated schedule.
It will be followed by World of Dance at 10 PM ET/PT, with judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo, and Scott Evans as host.
The trailer for AGT shows, Tery Crews welcoming Sofia Vergara and in typical Colombian accent, Sofia was seen mocking fun at Heidi for having an accent instead.
Simon Cowell also welcomed Sofia to the “new family, ” and she is seen dancing, jumping and arguing in the first look. This just has us all the more excited for the show!

“We are so proud to present a 15th season of America’s Got Talent this summer,” Simon Cowell also said about the show going as scheduled even during the pandemic. He added, “this show represents the best in perseverance, creativity and optimism. At a time when families are unable to go out, we really hope the new season will bring some much-needed joy and escape.”
Sofia Vergara Is The New ‘America’s Got Talent’ Judge
Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum are the new judges, replacing Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough who were both let go in November after one season on AGT. Heidi Klum was previously a judge on AGT for 6 seasons, from 2013-2018, and Sofia is a household name due to her role as Gloria in Modern Family.
‘AGT’ Racism and Toxic Workplace Investigation
America’s Got Talent is still under investigation after Gabrielle Union’s racism and toxic work environment accusation sparked a whiplash no one saw coming. The investigation was supposed to wrap up the by end of January but its results are yet to be made public.

“AGT” Filming Is Now Entirely Online
Although America’s Got Talent shooting can’t go on as normal due to the pandemic, this hasn’t stopped the show. Sofia Vergara recently took to Instagram to show her fans how AGT is currently filming. Multiple shows have produced remote episodes that have coordinating feeds coming from various screens including Saturday Night Live, specials like The Disney Family Singalong and One World: Together at Home and, as of Sunday, American Idol. We are unclear how much of the show was already shot but given that judge cuts go on for 10 weeks, there might be enough content for the show to go as planned and then smoothly transition once social distancing restrictions are lifted.
