It’s been quite the week for Kanye West who recently announced that he is running for President. Not only was this a shock because it is so late in the game in terms of meeting deadlines, but people began wondering who his advisors would be. Elon Musk, a close friend of Kanye’s was specultated as one of his advisors, but after some recent comments made on Twitter, it seems like all of that is about to change.
Elon Musk Might Not Fully Support Kanye West After All
When Kanye first announced he would be running for President on July 4, the billionaire Tesla founder originally pledged his support for Kanye’s campaign. He endorsed Kanye in a tweet saying “You have my full support!” The pair recently hung out right before Kanye made his big announcement, so the likelihood of Elon being in Kanye’s Cabinet seemed like it was not so far-fetched after all. In fact, during an interview with Forbes about his campaign, Kanye said “I proposed to him to be the head of our space program.” Elon’s company SpaceX has a goal of colonizing Mars and has successfully launched astronauts into space back in May. The company also designs and manufactures spacecrafts. Elon, along with Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian were both said to be Kanye’s most trusted advisors after tweeting their support.
But now, Elon has retracted the statements that supported Kanye’s presidential run and may not give him this new role. When an article was tweeted with the headline “Kanye West Says He Is Anti-Abortion And Anti-Vaccination In Presidential Bid,” Elon wasted no time withdrawing his support. He replied to this tweet saying “We may have more differences of opinion than I anticipated.” The article was in reference to some things the rapper said in the previous Forbes interview about his campaign that made waves all over social media.
Kanye Is Raising Concerns About His Mental Health
Kim retweeted a video of Kanye telling people how to register to vote, showing her support for her husband. But, it was reported that she looked tense after filming some scenes for the new season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. This comes after a source close to the couple said that “Kanye’s behavior is very unpredictable.” The source went on to say that Kanye typically has one depressive episode a year where he struggles with his bipolar disorder in which he was formally diagnosed when he was 39. The source maintains that this leads him to make sporadic decisions that affect Kim and cause her to have added stress.
“Kim will always support Kanye, but she doesn’t have to always agree with him, and that’s what makes their relationship special,” a source told ET.
The source also went on to say that the entire Kardashian clan “fully supports his dream to run for President.” Kanye has yet to address Elon’s withdrawal of support and who will replace him as an advisor.
