Canada’s Drag Race judge Brooke Lynn Hytes just landed her own talk show, 1 Queen 5 Queers. The show is inspired by the talk show 1 Girl 5 Gays, which first aired on MTV Canada in 2009. Brooke will also serve as the executive producer. This new take on an old classic will air on Crave.

Brooke Lynn Hytes is Reviving an Old Show with a New Twist

In the original show, host Aliya Jasmine Sovani would typically sit down with five gay men to discuss burning sex questions. Actress Lauren Collins later took over the hosting until the show stopped airing in 2014. Years after 1 Girl 5 Gays aired its last episode, the show is still being discussed for its wild format. Now, Brooke will be adding a whole new inclusive format change to the 30 minute long episodes.

“Inspired by the iconic 1 Girl 5 Gays, this talk show/round table discussion will feature Queer people from all walks of life and backgrounds coming together to talk about…Queer Shit!” Brooke wrote on Instagram. “It’s gonna be loud, proud, edgy and NOTHING will be off limits. Oh, and I’ll be hosting and executive producing it! More details coming soon!”

RuPaul’s Drag Race fans first fell in love with Brooke when she competed on Season 11 in 2019. Her ballet career and on-stage dancing experience made her stand out from the rest of the competition. Brooke found herself in the top group of performers several times throughout the competition. She had been going head to head with eventual winner Yvie Oddly all season long. The duo still has the best RuPaul’s Drag Race lip-sync of all time to Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry.”

Since being named the runner-up on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Brooke became the first cast member to ever become a judge in the franchise. Canada’s Drag Race has been renewed for a second season this year which Brooke has signed on for. It’s safe to say that fans have finally forgiven her for her awful Celine Dion Snatch Game performance from three years ago.
