SHOCKING Details About Rising Rapper Pop Smoke’s Murder During Home Invasion

Rising rapper Pop Smoke was reportedly killed early Wednesday morning in an apparent home invasion. The star, who was only 20 years old, was shot in a home in the Hollywood Hills.

Pop Smoke Killed In Home Invasion
According to the LA Times, officers responded to a call from the East Coast saying suspects had entered their friend’s Hollywood Hills home shortly before 5 am on Wednesday. Police say that at least one of the suspects was said to have been wearing a black mask and was armed with a handgun.

Police found Pop Smoke (whose real name is Bashar Barakah Jackson) with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two to six suspects apparently fled the scene and have not been found.
The house where Pop Smoke was staying was apparently owned by Real Housewives star Teddi Mellencamp, who posted her condolences on Instagram.
Who Was Rapper Pop Smoke?
Pop Smoke was a rising star in the rap world, originally from Brooklyn, New York. In April 2019, he released the song “Welcome to the Party,” off his first mixtape Meet the Woo. Remixes of the song featured Nicki Minaj and Skepta.
Earlier this month, he released his second mixtape, Meet the Woo 2, which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart. Pop Smoke was going to start his Meet the Woo tour next month.

The rapper was arrested in January on the charge of transporting a stolen vehicle across state lines. He allegedly stole a Rolls Royce Wraith in Los Angeles, and it was later found at his mom’s house in New York. Pop Smoke pleaded not guilty.
As many have pointed out, Pop Smoke was one of several young rappers who recently died young. Others include XXXTentacion and Lil Snupe, both of whom were shot.
