‘Dancing With The Stars’ Finale: Which Star Took Home The Mirrorball?

Dancing with the Stars Season 29 continued on Monday night with the season finale, featuring the final four stars. This week, the couples each danced twice. That included one repeat performance of a dance from earlier in the season, as well as a freestyle round.
The episode started with a group performance from this season’s pro dancers. The show also featured a solo performance from judge and former pro Derek Hough, as well as a medley of songs from contestant Nelly.

Kaitlyn Bristowe & Artem Chigvintsev
For their repeat dance, Kaitlyn and Artem chose to dance the Argentine tango, set to “Toxic” by Britney Spears. Derek Hough called Kaitlyn a “true contender” for the trophy. Bruno Tonioli said she “took my breath away,” calling it “intensely sensuous.” Carrie Ann Inaba called it one of her top three dances of all time.

For their freestyle dance, Kaitlyn and Artem paid tribute to Moulin Rouge, with Kaitlyn being lowered in a swing. Carrie Ann said she met her high expectations. Bruno said she captured the style of the movie, calling it “dazzling.”

Nelly & Daniella Karagach
For his repeat dance, Nelly chose to dance the samba to “Rhythm of the Night.” Bruno said Nelly is “engaging” to watch even if he had a few technical problems. Carrie Ann praised Nelly’s transformation over the season. Derek called him a “moment maker,” saying he makes people feel good.

For their freestyle dance, Nelly and Daniella danced among luxurious gold props, showing off flips, lifts, and spins. Bruno called Nelly “hip-hop royalty.” Carrie Ann praised them for combining different genres of dance. Derek said they started strong and ended strong.

Nev Schulman & Jenna Johnson
For his repeat dance, Nev chose to dance the paso doble to Swan Lake. Carrie Ann called it “perfection,” and said watching him was a “treat.” Derek joked that Nev “catfished” everyone by turning out to be a great dancer. Bruno said they “killed it,” calling it “more thrilling.”

For their freestyle dance, Nev and Jenna paid tribute to Singin’ in the Rain, with water pouring down on them. Derek called Nev “a leading man.” Bruno called it “show-stopping,” and said he wasn’t expecting it. Carrie Ann said Nev is an “incredible performer.”

Justina Machado & Sasha Farber
For their repeat dance, Justina and Sasha chose to dance their cha-cha from the very first week, set to “Respect” by Aretha Franklin. Derek said Justina was “exploding with charisma and energy.” Bruno said she was “almost too hot to trot.” Carrie Ann told her, “You know how to bring it.”

For their freestyle dance, Justina and Sasha danced to “Let’s Get Loud,” showing off energetic Latin moves while surrounded by bright neon lights. Bruno called it “uplifting.” Carrie Ann called it a celebration of Justina’s strength and culture. Derek said they “crushed it.”
