Crazy Contortionist SHOCKS The ‘AGT’ Judges [VIDEO]
NBC AGT has seen its fare share of amazing contortionists, and one of the most shocking examples was Nina Burri in 2014. The judges couldn’t believe she was able to pull off her seemingly impossible moves.
Nina started practicing contortion later than most, but you would never know it based on her audition. Check it out in the video below, and read on to find out what the judges had to say.
Contortionist Nina Burri Auditions For ‘AGT’
Nina, who is originally from Switzerland, told the judges that she started as a ballerina, and decided to pursue contortion when she turned 30. At the time of her audition, she was 36. She confirmed that it was a “very late” age to start the talent.
She went on to perform a crazy-flexible routine set to Sia’s “Chandelier.” She bent her back so that her feet were in front of her face, then did the craziest-looking pushup you’ll ever see. The judges were shocked, and some audience members looked freaked out by the moves.

“That was really spectacular,” judge Howard Stern told Nina, calling it the best contortion act he had ever seen on the show. Howie Mandel said the only thing missing from Nina’s act was her bones.
“You put a different twist on it,” Mel B said, prompting Howie Mandel to add, “No pun intended.” Nina earned four “yes” votes to move on, with Howard calling it a “potential million-dollar act.”
How Far Did Nina Burri Get In The Competition?
Nina made it to the quarterfinals of Season 9 on AGT. She performed a haunting routine featuring more incredible moves. Howard told her that it was “inspirational” that she chose to pursue this talent at such a late age.

However, Heidi Klum questioned if it was “big enough.” It looks like the viewers agreed, as Nina didn’t receive enough votes to move on to the semifinals. However, she hasn’t stopped performing.
In addition to contortion, Nina has also pursued acting and appeared in several film roles. She’s also put out a book called Body in Motion, and regularly posts contortion photos on Instagram. Noticeably, in many of those photos, she’s nude. She even has a calendar available for purchase.
