Best friends, Florent and Justin took to the “France’s Got Talent” stage to prove that a wheelchair can’t stop a talented dancer but as the performance progresses further Florence, who is the man in the wheelchair, falls down while dancing, see the performance below to see how it turns out to be part of the act
Contestant Breaks Stereotypes And Earns A Golden Buzzer
After their performance that is used to tell a story of friendship and overcoming obstacles, they earned a Golden Buzzer from judge Eric Antoine and there was not a dry eye in the room.
In the performance, Florent, the contestant in the wheelchair, sits alone as the music begins to play. Suddenly, Justin runs up and uses the wheelchair to jump and spin Florent around in a circle. From there, they start to tell a story that is just heartwarming.
Kamel Ouali, who is also a judge on France’s Got Talent correctly said, “your great success is that we forget that you are in a wheelchair!”
About the performance, Florent said, “We came with this idea of being able to say that it is not because I had an accident or a problem that I have to stop, we must dare, we must not be afraid. Incredible talent is also used for that.”
That wasn’t always the case though, after his accident, Florent gave in to grief.
And it was 9 years after the accident, that the then 25-year-old Florent joined a dance school in Belgium that Florent started believing that he could achieve the impossible.
Justin Collin who was a teacher at the school and it was there that the two bonded over the hours of hard work Florent put into training himself.
“Instead of pushing me,” said Florent, “he takes the time to see how I can do something.”
As per Good Times, soon they were finding ways to turn Florent’s wheelchair into a seamless prop on the dancefloor, and a way to express the intense emotion of their story, instead of a symbol of Florent’s disability.
