Contestant Dedicates Whitney Houston’s Song To One Of The Judges But Does It Work?[VIDEO]
ITV Back in 2012, an X Factor contestant delivered a passionate audition to a Whitney Houston song, and he did it all for judge Tulisa. The contestant’s name was Jason Viet Tien.
Jason charmed the judges with his love for Tulisa and went on to wow them with his impressive voice. Check out his full audition in the video below.
‘X Factor’ Contestant Sings For Tulisa
Jason said he wanted to get a standing ovation from the judges and a kiss from Tulisa. He shared that he sings so much, his neighbors get annoyed with him. So it’s no wonder he decided to audition for The X Factor UK.

He kicked off his audition by telling Tulisa she’s “amazing and beautiful” and presenting her with a rose. He kissed Tulisa on the cheek, and she gave him a kiss back. Even though he had trouble pronouncing her name correctly (saying Tulisha instead), the judge was clearly touched.
Jason went on to sing “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. He directed much of the song to Tulisa, even pointing at her. She smiled and even stood up at one point during the performance. Jason ended the song singing her name.
What Did The Judges Think Of Jason’s Performance?
“I think I’ve found a new toyboy,” Tulisa said after Jason’s audition. “Loved it. Absolutely loved it. I love the rose, I love you, and I love the performance. How about that? You wanted my love, you’ve earned it.”

Meanwhile, fellow judge Geri Halliwell said Jason was “better than I thought you were gonna be,” adding that it’s a hard song to sing. Gary Barlow called Jason “a great little character,” saying the performance was “absolutely splendid.” Louis Walsh pointed out how likable Jason was.
Jason received four “yes” votes from the judges to move on to the next round. He was especially excited that Tulisa said yes. “I just love her so much, and she gave me a kiss!” he said backstage. “Oh my God, I can’t believe it.”
