Christina Aguilera Says She’ll Never Return To ‘The Voice’
One of the longest serving judges on the American version of The Voice was Christina Aguilera. She was one of the original coaches on the show with Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. She then served on and off for several more years. But she’s done with the show and vows never to return.
It makes sense if she wants to create music and tour. Somehow, Blake and Adam are able to do it for over a decade but it must be difficult. I doubt they get a lot of down time. Christina Aguilera just doesn’t want to be chained to the show. She told Billboard Magazine,
“It became something that I didn’t feel was what I had signed up for in season one. You realize it’s not about music. It’s about making good TV moments and massaging a story.”I didn’t get into this business to be a television show host and to be given all these [rules. Especially as a female: You can’t wear this, can’t say that. I would find myself on that show desperately trying to express myself through clothing or makeup or hair. It was my only kind of outlet.”
I feel her. I’ve worked on TV shows and I can tell you that it consumes your whole life. Your family never sees you and forget working on any side projects. You are too tired. You have to do what’s going to make you happy, Christina.
