Twitter queen Chrissy Teigen sent fans into a frenzy when she posted a video wearing a black one-piece bathing suit with a plunging neckline. This “thirst trap” video has 3.3 million views and attracted some trolls who made negative comments about her body. But of course, in true Chrissy fashion, she did not hesitate to clap back.
“I never post thirst traps, but here I am trapping you with thirst,” said the model. A thirst trap is a photo posted on social media to capture attention. Chrissy did just that with her video.
People On Twitter Said Some Hurtful Things To Chrissy Teigen
It seems like people are always going to have something negative to say whenever a star shows their body. This kind of bullying and body shaming is completely uncalled for. One Twitter user wrote “Didn’t know you were a porn star. Yuck. Is this how you want to be seen? I bet hubby loves it but please leave it for him only.” This comment is extremely cruel considering everyone has the freedom to post whatever they want on the internet and other stars post bathing suit photos all the time.
Another Twitter user said, “It’s like a 12-year-old boy in a bodysuit” with a bunch of vomiting emojis. This comment is beyond disrespectful. One comment that took it too far is someone saying “John Legend gotta be cheating.” Her body looks amazing especially after having two children, so the fact that people go this far to say hurtful things is outright mean. Not every celebrity has an hourglass figure or had surgery to change their body shape. Natural body types should be embraced too.
Chrissy is known for being sarcastic and very blatant with her thoughts. Clearly the video was meant to put a smile on people’s faces and show off her body during a time where her fans rely on her to cheer them up. Some people just did not get the memo. “Narcissistic much? Cover up, you’re not that hot,” said one Twitter user. We’re sure this Twitter user would not like someone saying a comment like that to her.
“You’re married, right? Inappropriate actions for a married woman. Please set better examples for younger ones out there,” said another. A lot of people seem to be referencing Chrissy’s marriage to John Legend, which seems to be rock solid by the way.
Some Of Chrissy’s Fans Tried To Spread Love
“I’m sorry everyone is being so rude to you – you’re so beautiful inside and out,” said one fan. This prompted Chrissy to say “It’s ok I’ve been a rectangle my whole life and it’s gotten me pretty far” with some heart emojis. Chrissy is one of the most successful models in the entire world so she definitely has a point.
She also told another supporter that she has “been a square” her whole life but it has “paid off nicely in many ways.” Regardless of what other people think about her body, she still continues to achieve success and has a huge following on social media.
She finished replying to tweets about her body saying “Imagine if one day I showed up with hips and an a**. Ooooo you guys would be pissed then too! I’m happy, John’s happy, we all happy and doing a-okay!” She put the body-shamers to rest and went back to reposting pictures of recipes that her fans have created from her cookbook.
She Got Some Support From A Famous Face
Actress Jameela Jamil tweeted to support Chrissy and said “I loved the video. Didn’t see a shape. Just saw fire.” We could not agree more. The point of a thirst trap is to gain some attention, not to be body-shamed.
Chrissy responded to Jameela by saying “Thank u 🙁 I’ve gotten used to my right angle bod, you’d think people have seen it enough that it doesn’t shock them anymore but nope lol.”
Body shaming and making hurtful comments about someone’s body is not cool, especially when that person does nothing but try to make people laugh or smile with a thirst trap.
