Singer Cheryl has had a rollercoaster relationship with The X Factor UK and it’s executive producer and resident curmudgeon Simon Cowell. It looks like their collaboration is finally at an end when she took steps to dissolve her association with the show and its network ITV.
Cheryl began as a judge on The X Factor UK in 2008. She mentored two winners, (Alexandra Burke in series 5 and Joe McElderry in series 6), and then left for the American version of the show for like 15 minutes. She then returned to The X Factor UK for series 11 and 12 but is now officially done with it all. She dissolved her company, CherCo Productions Ltd, which handled her earnings on the show and managed her appearances. You know it’s serious when you get lawyers and accountants involved.
There were rumors that Simon Cowell had reached out to her and offered a boatload of cash to return, but Simon denies this happened. Either way, it looks like Cheryl is moving on to bigger personal projects. Good luck, Cheryl!
