‘The Voice’s Cassadee Pope & Lauren Duski Join Next Women of Country
Country Music Television revealed its 2019 “Next Women of Country” class today. And if you’re a fan of The Voice, there were some familiar faces there! Lauren Duski was introduced as one of the members of the 2019 class. Plus, CMT announced that Cassadee Pope will headline the 2019 CMT Next Women of Country Tour!
Here is the excited announcement on Lauren’s Instagram:
CMT’s Next Women of Country is country music’s top initiative supporting women musicians on the rise. CMT first launched its Next Women of Country campaign in 2013 in an effort to support and bring exposure to developing female talent. After being inducted, CMT will feature these women for the next year. This gives them valuable air time and the means necessary to break out in a male-dominated genre. Cassadee Pope received the honor in the program’s inaugural year. Other previous recipients have included Maren Morris, Brandy Clark, and “The Comeback Stage” fifth coach, Kelsea Ballerini!
This year’s event took place during CMT’s sixth annual showcase at City Winery in Nashville. In addition to The Voice runner-up Lauren Duski, CMT also inducted Anna Vaus, Emily Hackett, Ingrid Andress, Lainey Wilson, Leah Turner, Rachel Wammack, Stephanie Quayle, and Tenille Townes into the 2019 class.
It was also announced that, as one of its original members, Cassadee Pope will headline the Next Women of Country tour in 2019! This marks Cassadee’s first national run as a solo act. Fellow members Clare Dunn and Hannah Ellis will join Cassadee on the tour. Venue and ticket information will be available in the coming weeks. So if you’re a Cassadee Pope fan, (which, who isn’t?) stay tuned to see if the Next Women of Country tour will be coming to a city near you!
From all of us at Talent Recap, a big congratulations to Lauren and Cassadee for their continued success. Team Blake (and his country mafia) is on the rise!
