A remix of Cardi B talking about coronavirus is going viral, and you simply have to hear it. Cardi herself has been tweeting her reactions to the song’s unexpected success.
Check out the original Instagram video that inspired the track below. You won’t believe how well it’s doing on the charts. People obviously need a little humor in their lives right now.
Cardi B’s Coronavirus Remix Song
It all started last week when Cardi posted a video of herself talking about how concerned she was about the coronavirus pandemic. “Shit is real,” she said. “Shit is getting real.”
Brandon Davidson, the DJ who put the track together, told Buzzfeed it’s “heartwarming” to see people enjoying the song. He explainS that Cardi’s way of saying “coronavirus” matched a beat he already had.
“For me to see everyone dancing, smiling, and not living in fear … that’s the greatest thing I can do,” Brandon said in response to videos of people dancing along to the track.
How Cardi B Reacted To The Coronavirous Song
Cardi herself has reacted to the remix on Twitter, reposting people’s dance videos and saying she might as well make a music video for it. She’s also posted about the song’s amazing chart history, and joked that she wants royalties.
As of this morning, the remix had reached No. 18 on the iTunes songs chart, and No. 5 on the iTunes hip-hop/rap chart. Even Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Cody Simpson posted a video of themselves repeating Cardi’s words.
People clearly need a little joy as they deal with current events. And there’s really no better soundtrack to social distancing.
