You cannot scroll through TikTok without someone taking on the viral dance to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP.” But TikTok user Niamh Adkins put together the ultimate mashup with another iconic song, Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me.” Take a look at her dance below that had Cardi herself shook.
Cardi B Responded To TikTok Mashup With Taylor Swift Song
Cardi B tweeted in response to the video saying “I ain’t saw that coming.” So far, the video has 4.9 million views on Twitter and close to 90,000 views on Instagram. After seeing Cardi respond to her video, Niamh took to her Instagram story to explain how she was feeling. She said after posted the video she was nervous and had a lot of regrets. She was scared people from her high school would see it. “My grade six teacher would see that” she screamed. After being so shy in high school she felt like everyone would be absolutely surprised seeing her video. “It pretty much happens to me anytime I do something.”
But, it also helped Niamh realize that she should be allowed to be herself and not internalize feedback. She said that the same people that used to judge her are now sharing the video with their friends and praising her. In the video, Niamh dressed up exactly as Taylor did in her unforgettable 2008 “You Belong With Me” music video. You would never expect the classic pop tune to transition to the new hottest rap hit “WAP.” She then proceeded to do the “WAP” dance which involves twerking and a lot of flexibility. Niamh also noted that TikTok took down her original video at one million views and she is trying to get it put back up. Other stars have also been taking on the viral “WAP” TikTok dance including Vanessa Hudgens. Cardi also retweeted this video on Twitter.
Cardi Has Been Taking Over The Music Charts
Cardi and Megan’s rap hit “WAP” has had some major success after its release. It became the first female rap collaboration to debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. It also had the most first-week streams on digital platforms and is currently the most-streamed song of the year so far with 93 million streams. The rapper also demonstrated one of the most infamous moves in the “WAP” dance in an Instagram video. The star was surrounded by friends as she did a split showing off her flexibility.
She also warned her fans to be careful doing the “WAP” dance and posted a video of one TikTok user sustaining an injury while doing the dance. She even had to be taken to the hospital.
Just recently, Cardi’s album “Invasion Of Privacy” also became the longest-charting album by a female rapper in Billboard 200 history.
