‘Can I Go Solo?’ This Backstabbing Group Audition leads To MAJOR Drama [VIDEO]

Auditioning for The X Factor as a group can be tricky, because it’s usually all of you or none of you. But when girl group Magenta got rejected by the judges, it only took a few seconds for one of the girls to break ranks.
The singer’s request to go solo was made even more awkward by the comments she made before the group’s audition, as she shared how much the other girls meant to her.
Girl Group Magenta Fails To Impress On ‘X Factor’
“We’ve got such a close bond as friends,” group member Stacy said of her band mates in Magenta before their audition, as the show played the Friends theme song to emphasize her point. “We really support each other and really help each other out, every way we can, don’t we?”

For their audition, the girls performed “Lady Marmalade,” complete with choreographed dance moves. Simon Cowell called it “a bit copycat and very juvenile.” Louis Walsh said he didn’t think they could get signed.
The girls got three “no” votes, at which point X Factor reminded us of what Stacy had said earlier in the show about sticking by her friends. The cheeky flashback made Stacy’s reaction to the group’s rejection even funnier.
Girl Group Auditions Separately After Rejection
“Can I just ask, is there any way we could come back on our own, as solo artists?” Stacy asked the judges, to which Simon Cowell replied, “I love that. You literally left the group within five seconds of getting a no.”

To be fair, Stacy asked for all three of them to audition, but the other girls seemed a bit taken aback by her eagerness to sing solo, telling the judges they had no idea she would make that suggestion. Stacy later said she wasn’t trying to “backstab” them.
The girls returned to the audition room and sang separately, one after the other. “The good news is that you’re all in the same boat,” Simon told them. “‘Cause none of you can sing.”
We’re not sure what became of Magenta after their audition. As commenters on YouTube have pointed out, the girls weren’t as bad as many of the acts who audition. It just wasn’t good enough for X Factor.
