‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Winner Lost Voice Guy Gets Book Deal
One of the funniest as well as heartwarming acts I’ve seen on any of these talent shows lately was Lee Ridley, The Lost Voice Guy. Lee won this past season of Britain’s Got Talent with his killer comedy act. Lee is an incredibly sweet and funny man who cannot speak due to his cerebral palsy. This might hurt other people’s chances of being a stand-up comic, but not Lee. He’s gotten a lucrative book deal and we can’t wait to read it.
The book will be called…hilariously…I’m Only In It For the Parking. That seriously made me snort laugh like a 14-year-old girl. Several publishers were vying for his story but Transworld was able to make a deal with him. Lee speaks through an electronic voice emulator and he gets asked a lot of stupid questions from people about his disabilities and life. Luckily, Lee has the wit to deal with it. A lot of these stupid comments are what he uses as a jumping off point to discuss his life.
Some trolls on the interwebs have said that Lee only won because people felt sorry for him. That’s nonsense. The guy was simply the best act this year and one of the best comedy acts on any of the Got Talents ever. I hope this book will be available here in the States.
