The Voice coach Gwen Stefani got fans riled up on Twitter recently by responding to a tweet about President Donald Trump. Some of her followers don’t think Gwen should be involving herself in political conversations. Some are wondering what does she know and what is she hiding?
The tweet in question came from MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, and was retweeted by director Ron Howard. It links to a Washington Post story about Trump’s response to an anonymous whistle-blower who filed a complaint about him urging the Ukrainian president to investigate Joe Biden’s son.
Gwen Stefani Responds To Tweet About Trump
“Trump shattered another norm Thursday by alluding to violence and possible death for the whistleblower’s sources in an apparent warning to witnesses inside the government who might be asked to testify against him,” reads a quote from the Washington Post article in Joe Scarborough’s tweet.
On Friday, Gwen Stefani replied to this tweet by simply writing, “I can.” It’s not clear what she meant by it. She almost seems to be implying that she can testify against Trump, which seems unlikely to say the least. Or can she really?
Is Gwen Stefani Speaking Out Against Donald Trump?
Gwen hasn’t deleted the tweet, so it doesn’t appear to be a mistake, and she’s apparently not swayed by the angry responses she received from some of her fans.
Gwen Stefani Fans Angry Over Political Tweet
Even though her tweet was cryptic, some of Gwen’s Twitter followers would prefer her not to post about politics, particularly comments about Trump. One user told her it’s her job to “entertain,” and claimed she’s only popular because of boyfriend Blake Shelton.
Another user shared a similar sentiment, telling Gwen not to alienate the fans she’s received because of her relationship with Blake. They added, “don’t put politics in the mix because it won’t turn out great for you!!”
Another fan told Gwen not to “fall for democrats [sic] hatred toward our president,” adding, “This is how celebrities are losing fans.”
‘The Voice’ Coach John Legend Fires Back At Trump
Gwen isn’t the only Voice coach to seemingly speak out against Trump. John Legend has made his disapproval of the president very clear, calling him a “racist” and a “piece of shit.”
John’s wife, Bring the Funny judge Chrissy Teigen, has also drawn Trump’s ire with her tweets. Recently, Chrissy and John tried to get the hashtag #PresidentPussyAssBitch trending on Twitter after Trump called Chrissy John’s “foul mouthed wife.”
Gwen’s boyfriend aka Blake Shelton, however, said in 2016 about Trump, “Whether you love him or hate him, he says what he thinks, and he has proven that you don’t always have to be so afraid.” He added, about Trump running against Hillary Clinton, “I probably wish there was another option, but there’s not.”
Blake later denied that he was endorsing Trump for president.
