BREAKING: Gabrielle Union Replaced On ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’
BGT judge Alesha Dixon will soon become much more familiar to American audiences, as she joins the judging panel on the second season of AGT: The Champions. We were expecting Gabrielle Union since she did such a great job on America’s Got Talent!
The judges for the new all-stars season were announced on Thursday. Longtime judges Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel will return to the table, as well as former judge Heidi Klum. Terry Crews will host the show. Former judge Mel B, however, will not be returning.
Alesha Dixon Announced As ‘AGT: Champions’ Judge
This year’s AGT: The Champions winner, magician Shin Lim, revealed the new judging lineup in a video on AGT‘s YouTube page. He performed a card trick that made the judges’ faces and names appear.
Alesha Dixon has been a judge on BGT and BGT: The Champions since 2012. In the early 2000s, she was part of the girl group Mis-Teeq, before embarking on a solo career. In 2007, she won Strictly Come Dancing. She has plenty of experience not only in the entertainment industry, but also as a judge.
During BGT: The Champions, which is currently airing, Alesha announced that she is pregnant with her second child.
Where Are Gabrielle Union And Julianne Hough?
You’ve probably noticed that Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough, who joined AGT as judges in its most recent season, are not on the new Champions panel. Although Gabrielle and Julianne were only officially announced as being part of Season 14, many fans probably expected them to return for the all-stars version.
Neither Gabrielle nor Julianne has commented on their absence. Maybe they just couldn’t fit the special edition of the show (which is pre-taped) into their schedules this time around. It will be interesting to see if this affects the judging panel for Season 15 as well.
The second season of AGT: The Champions will air in January. We can’t wait to find out which of our favorite acts are returning.
