America’s Got Talent will be live from the Dolby Theater every Tuesday and Wednesday for the rest of the season! This week the first group of quarter-finalists will compete to move on to the semi-finals, so let’s take a look at who will be performing and which acts have the best chance to move on!
The twelve acts competing for seven spots in the semi-finals this Tuesday will be:
- blacklight painter Alex Dowis
- danger group Bir Khalsa
- singer Carmen Carter
- drill dance team Emerald Belles
- girl group GFORCE
- comic impressionist Greg Morton
- singer and pianist Kodi Lee
- singer Luke Islam
- acrobatic act Messoudi Brothers
- singer-songwriter and guitarist Sophie Pecora
- vocal group Voices of Service
- WILDCARD singer Ansley Burns
This week’s lineup is very singer heavy, with 7/12 acts falling under that category. That means we could potentially see all the singing acts – and only the singing acts – move forward.
But will we? Realistically, a lot of them will probably make it through. All three of the Golden Buzzer acts on this week – Kodi, Sophie, and Luke – are singers, with Kodi in particular getting a massive response to his audition that makes him pretty much a lock for the finals. Voices of Service‘s message is going to be a massive hit with the American public which boosts their chances of advancing. And Ansley‘s elimination broke so many people’s hearts that coming back as a wildcard may give her more of an advantage than had she advanced normally.
Of the variety acts, I think AlexDowis and Messoudi Brothers have the best shot at advancing. If the overwhelmingly positive response to sand artist Kseniya Simonova on AGT: The Champions is anything to go by, Alex could do well with the voters. And while we don’t have many balancing acts who made the live shows to compare the brothers to, they seem to be one of those acts people just seem to like. Will that be reflected in the votes? We’ll find out soon!
