Blind Comedian Has Simon Cowell Bursting Into Laughter But then His Story Takes A Turn [VIDEO]
ITV Cubby, a 41-year-old comedian has had a degenerative eye condition since birth. This has left him blind, only being able to see bright lights. As his eyesight got worse, he turned to standup comedy to make people laugh. Cubby has shown everyone that nothing is going to keep him from reaching his dreams on Britain’s Got Talent. Cubby Shared His Hilarious Comedy Skills On ‘Britain’s Got Talent’
Cubby whose real name is David Cuthbertson said “I never let it get me down. I just don’t take it seriously” about his vision. That is an incredible motto to live by that the audience and judges applauded him tremendously for. Alesha Dixon immediately knew that Cubby was from Scotland the second he opened his mouth during his Britain’s Got Talent audition. Cubby had the judges cackling with his joke about wearing glasses even though he is blind. Amanda Holden could not contain her laughter when Cubby made a joke about how hard dating is when you’re blind. He remarked that not many women want to go on a true blind date. He kept making the judges laugh with some truly hilarious jokes. This prompted the judges and the audience to give him a standing ovation.

“I honestly think you have real potential and I’m honored that you came on the show,” Amanda said. “Your stories were fantastic. They were authentic. They were true to you” David Walliams said. “You’ve turned what might be a negative in your life into a positive and I’m so pleased you came on this show.” He went on to say that the routine was “hilarious.” Simon also loved the audition. “What really made me laugh was that you were laughing at your own jokes,” he said. Simon went on to say he could relate because he too laughs at his own jokes even when nobody else thinks he’s funny. “It was very authentic. You’ve got naturally funny bones and I think you’re going to inspire a lot of people and people are really going to root for you” Alesha said.
What Is He Up To Now?
Cubby got four yes’s from the judges and will have a chance to perform at the Britain’s Got Talent live shows. They were previously postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the show is now set to record its first semi-finals in early September. Cubby has had to cancel a few comedy appearances due to the pandemic but in the meantime, he continues to share clips of his audition on social media. He even made a TikTok account to promote his audition and show off his excitement for the live shows.
