Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Post Malone, John Legend Will Perform for ‘Elvis All-Star Tribute’

December 2018 marked the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s legendary ’68 Comeback Special on NBC and the network is celebrating in a major way. On what would’ve been the singer’s 83rd birthday, the network has announced a new Elvis All-Star Tribute, which will air on Sunday, February 17.

The star-studded two-hour event will be hosted by The Voice‘s Blake Sheldon. There will be performances by the who’s who of today’s music. For example, Post Malone and former American Idol judge Keith Urban, who will perform “Baby What You Want Me to Do.” In addition, John Legend is set to perform “A Little Less Conversation.” And then Jennifer Lopez will give a new spin on the classic “Heartbreak Hotel.” Similarly, American Idol alum Carrie Underwood will sing with gospel singer Yolanda Adams. Then they will perform a gospel medley including “How Great Thou Art,” “He Touched Me,” and “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” In conclusion host Blake Sheldon will be working double duty when he performs the classic “Trouble”/”Guitar Man”,  which many remember from the original ’68 Comeback Special.

Rolling Stone reports that the special will also include interviews with Presley’s ex-wife, Priscilla Presley, and the director of the original Elvis special, Steve Binder.

Aditionally, in support of the evening, RCA/Legacy Recordings will release The Best of the ’68 Comeback Special on February 15. The album will feature a collection of Presley’s performances from the original 1968 show and an updated illustrious guest-heavy remake of “If I Can Dream” with Sheldon, Underwood, Shawn Mendez, and Darius Rucker.
