If Blake And Adam Leave, ‘The Voice’ Is Finished
We keep hearing rumors that Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are thinking of leaving The Voice. Supposedly, they are just plain tired of doing the show. It’s understandable after 13 seasons. The thing is that the two of them ARE the show, the pillars of The Voice. Without Blake and Adam anchoring it, The Voice would collapse.
The way I know that’s true is that they can switch out the other two coaches and nothing happens to the ratings. You can have Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, etc. and that’s all fine and good but at the end of the day, you need Blake and Adam. Their rivalry is the backbone of the show. While people become attached to the contestants as time goes on, initially they tune in to see these two guys fight and love each other.
NBC knows that the show has to stay afloat with those two so they’ve reportedly been offered 5 million dollar bonuses to stay on through 2020. The site GoldDerby ran a poll and 77% of people say they tune in just to see Blake and Adam. That says it all.
