Jonathan Goodwin Brought A Dangerous Stunt To ‘America’s Got Talent’
The question on everyone’s minds about Judge Cuts this season was definitely how the danger acts would fare performing from home without an audience. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the judges are watching the auditions via a screen in a new outdoor setup that allows the contestants to perform from home. “I’m amazed to see you’re alive,” Simon Cowell said when he saw Jonathan appear on the screen. “We saw your video submission and you are actually crazy. I met Jonathan before on a previous show and this is the closest I’ve ever saw someone kill themselves on live tv” he continued. Jonathan was first introduced to the world with his crazy danger act on season 13 of Britain’s Got Talent and made it all the way to the finals.

“What you’re about to see is probably the most dangerous and the scariest thing I have ever performed,” he told the judges. Jonathan has had a passion for dangerous acts since he was seven years old and never wanted to do anything else. “Anything dangerous and a little bit stupid, that’s got me written all over it.” In the past, Jonathan has suffered several injuries during his act including a broken leg and broken bones. He explained that it is hard to perform a danger act in front of a live audience because you really have to get it right the first time to make sure nothing goes wrong. “All I’m going to be concentrating on is surviving,” Jonathan said before attempting a trick with several crossbows during Judge Cuts.
The Judges Were Stunned By Jonathan’s Daring Performance
First, Jonathan started off by filling a cup of water with a little virtual help from Howie Mandel. He instructed Howie to keep his eyes closed until the water was filled to the top. The stakes got a bit higher when Jonathan brought out a loaded crossbow. His assistant April held a balloon which he managed to shoot at and pop without injuring her. The camera panned to four more crossbows with containers of water underneath. Each water had a tap that would fill up a water bottle. Basically, when the bottles get full, the weight of the water would trigger each crossbow to fire at different times. The crossbows would fire directly at a target that Jonathan stood in front of, blindfolded.

Howie was scared the entire time as the arrows came flying one by one towards Jonathan. He managed to dodge them all, even using his book of tricks to catch the very last arrow. Simon was in disbelief at the death-defying stunt. But Jonathan said something super ominous that has us all wondering what will happen next. “If you thought that was scary, I have three more that are even scarier,” he said before the camera cut to black.
