Former Britain’s Got Talent star Calum Scott appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden this week to perform his new song “Rise.” The inspiring performance sounded amazing and had the audience applauding before it was even over.
Calum Scott Performs ‘Rise’ on ‘Late Late Show’
Scott released his new single “Rise” earlier this month, with a lyric video to go along with it. The powerhouse anthem shows off Scott’s incredible voice, backed by pounding percussion.
“‘Cause I’ve got my best suit on and I’m ready / I’ve got my sleeves rolled up and I’ll be on my way,” Scott sings on the track. “While my heart’s thumping, ba-bom, ba-bom / You’re gonna see me rise.”
For his late-night performance, Scott was surrounded by flowers and plants, with a band and backup singers behind him. The singer, who earned the Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell on BGT in 2015, totally delivered. The crowd was clapping and cheering a minute into the performance.
“I wanted to write a song that would empower people to chase down their dreams and to try to embrace life, no matter what they are going through or what their circumstances,” Scott has said of the uplifting track.
What Has Scott Been Up to Lately?
Earlier this year, Scott released a new single called “Biblical.” He also collaborated with Lost Frequencies on a song called “Where Are You Now.” He’s been working on his second album for a while now, as he created a documentary series called “Minutes with Calum” about the process.
Scott recently announced that he’s joining The Script on their Greatest Hits Tour next year, in both the United States and Europe. Tickets are available now. As Scott wrote on Instagram, “Playing live has always been my favourite thing to do so to know I’m coming back to the US and this time to support my mates is a real dream come true!”
We’re excited to hear the follow-up to Scott’s 2018 debut album Only Human very soon, as well as seeing a music video for the new song “Rise.” We’re sure it will be epic.
