‘BGT’ Martial Artist Does How MANY One Finger Push-Ups?! [VIDEO]

Printer and decorator Mickey Gooch came to Britain’s Got Talent in 2011 with a promise to show the world something they have never seen before. “I will be doing something that nobody in the world could match me on,” he said. He proceeded to say that he would be doing one-finger push-ups balancing his entire body weight on top of a nail. Check out this crazy ‘BGT’ audition below.
Mickey Gooch Was Ready To Break A Record On The ‘BGT’ Stage
The 54-year-old said that he was been studying martial arts since 1974. Mickey was able to do 10 one-finger push-ups before falling to the ground during his audition. The judges were cringing the entire time and looking away as his finger held up all of his weight. Amanda Holden actually pressed her red buzzer during the performance. “I did feel it’s an amazing thing to do more than one of them but we are looking for entertainment and although I was very impressed, I wasn’t entertained,” judge Michael McIntyre said. “You probably have the world’s strongest finger but I can’t imagine it on the Royal Variety,” Amanda said. The judges proceeded to give Mickey three “no’s” and he was not sent into the next round.

He does get major props though because nobody has ever done this on the Britain’s Got Talent stage before. We have seen a ton of danger and variety acts, but never someone doing one-finger push-ups on a nail as the focus of their act. We saw Ant & Dec attempting to try these difficult pushups backstage and they could not even get themselves up off the ground.
Where Is He Now?
It seems like Mickey just goes by Mick now. In 2013, Mick actually held the UK record for Fastest 10 One Finger Push-Ups in 16.2 seconds. This later won him a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. But, his world almost came crashing down when he had a stroke in 2015. His doctors told him to rest his body and take it easy so he did not risk getting sick again. During this time, he decided to start writing his autobiography called “Balancing the World on One Finger.” It details his past getting into scuffles as a young boy which eventually led him to discipline himself with martial arts. “I believe everyone is given a gift and I found mine with the one-finger press-up,” he said. “I came from a pretty tough council estate and have made it to the top. I hope my book will be an inspiration to others.”
Plus, Mick’s act doesn’t just stop at a nail. He is even able to do one finger push-ups on a bottle. Is there anything this man can’t do?

Though his strength and power in doing these push-ups is amazing, it didn’t seem like the right fit for ‘BGT.’
