12 year old, Fayth Ifil left the judges stunned tonight with her sensational rendition of Tina Turner’s ‘Proud Mary’ on BGT. The young West End actor received Simon’s Golden Buzzer, which will have her quite literally ‘rolling’ to the next round!
Golden Buzzer moment: Fayth Ifil stuns crowd with Tina Turner classic
At just 12 years old, Fayth Ifil left both the judges and the crowd amazed with an incredible cover of Tina Turner’s ‘Proud Mary’. Throughout the performance, the audience was seen on their feet, pushing the judges to ‘hit the gold’.
Of course, Simon Cowell did just that which had the entirety of the London Palladium on their feet. Cowell and Fayth’s mother joined the young singer on stage as she stood mesmerized. Judges, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon also praised the singer for her incredible vocal abilities at such a young age.
When discussing her audition experience, Ifil claimed the entire performance ‘felt like a dream’. “I was so nervous beforehand,” begins Fayth. “I had butterflies in my tummy. I didn’t really know what to do with myself, should I be happy should I be excited or nervous. I love Britain’s Got Talent, so when I stepped onto the stage suddenly there were all my favorite people and I had to speak to them. It was so weird, I was like ‘oh my gosh I’m speaking to celebrities!’. I thought I was dreaming, for a second it actually felt like a dream!”
Fayth Ifil’s journey from the West End to the ‘BGT’ stage
Britain’s Got Talent isn’t the only big stage that Ifil has appeared on. The young singer has performed in many big West End musicals over the years, which include ‘School of Rock’ and ‘The Tina Turner Musical’.
Fayth’s song choice was heavily influenced by her role in ‘The Tina Turner Musical’. “I chose the song because of having done the show. I got loads of inspiration from it,” she said.
It’s really no surprise Fayth was given the Golden Buzzer, she was born to perform and has quite the amount of experience behind her!
