By now everyone has seen South Korean boyband BTS’ iconic MTV VMA’s performance of their first English hit, “Dynamite.” It was a fun feel-good performance full of awesome dancing. But, the coronavirus pandemic definitely affected some of the original plans they had for the performance.
BTS Gives Exclusive Look At Amazing MTV VMA’S Performance Of “Dynamite”
The group led Vogue in a behind the scenes look at their first television performance of the song which was shot in front of a green screen! It was the group’s first live performance in six months that they were able to show fans. “We actually had been working on our album coming later this year and we just met the song by coincidence,” RM said in the video. “So we thought that we needed the positive vibes right now and we wanted to give the energy, recharge the battery so that’s why we came out with this song “Dynamite” as a single. It’s really like unusual for us.” They continued on to talk about how it is a song “about focusing on what you can do even in difficult situations.”
Originally the group wanted to film their performance outdoors to “show everyone the scenery in Seoul.” But, the pandemic along with some intense summer rain caused them to take their performance in a different direction indoors. The boys were very on top of shooting this video and wanted to make sure everything about it was perfect. They were constantly checking the footage to make sure every member was in the correct place and doing the right moves. “It’s really fun choreography that everyone can enjoy together. It really brings out the unique personalities and vibes of each member” they said.
They Also Spoke About How Quarantine Has Been
Of course BTS has been stuck at home like the rest of us in quarantine. But, they have taken up some new hobbies like gaming, drawing and cooking. This is coupled with practicing instruments and songwriting as the boys are always practicing their craft.
They promised their new album will be released in the second half of the year. “We want to perform again at the end of the year and also meet our fans often,” they said. The group will also be performing during the America’s Got Talent results show this week so definitely tune in for that. This video definitely gave the Army something to smile about while there is so much going on in the world and it’s cool to get a behind the scenes look at one of the most iconic performances ever.
