Awkward Comedian Tragically Flops On ‘BGT’ After Reading Jokes Off Paper [VIDEO]
Paul Stark, a 21-year-old student auditioned for season seven of ‘BGT’ with a comedy routine that he thought was absolutely hilarious. The problem with his act was that he was the only one laughing. Check out this weird comedy routine that totally went wrong.
Paul Stark Performed Cringeworthy Comedy Act On ‘BGT’
All four of the judges especially comedian David Walliams were all confused when Paul pulled out a piece of paper on stage. Normally comedians tell jokes off of the top of their heads or do improvisation which is what makes comedy acts so funny. Paul literally read his first joke off of a piece of paper. It was a knock-knock joke and truthfully nobody found it funny. It did not seem like the right kind of joke that could win ‘BGT.’
Alesha Dixon wasted no time hitting her red buzzer after the first failed joke. His next joke was about meeting a girl in a nightclub and had people in the audience very confused. Simon Cowell was next to hit his red buzzer watching this cringe-worthy act. The audience began to “boo” and chant to make it known that they were not impressed with Paul’s act.
As he launched into his third joke, he let the crowd get to him. “Oh come on,” he said to the audience. “Seriously, where’s your sense of humor?” he asked. He then made a snide remark about how he is better than everyone in the audience. This did not help his failed act in any way. Obviously, he did not make it through to the next round of the competition. Paul’s routine was part of a montage of bad comedians leading up to the audition of eventual runner-up Jack Carroll who ended up blowing the judges away.
If you thought Paul’s act was a little bizarre, definitely check out the What’s Hot Video below. Host Rachel goes through 10 contestants that have absolutely no talent when they competed on talent competition shows. Some of them are super cringeworthy.
Where Is Paul Now?
After competing on ‘BGT’ some new information about Paul came to light. In 2012, a YouTube documentary was produced about Paul’s life as a comedian. He basically revealed that he had this idea to do a bad comedy act that would appeal to people even more than a good comedy act. We have to say he perfectly adopted the over-confident persona that made his audition go viral. People in the comments section complimented Paul for his ability to act so well and some even said that his ‘BGT’ audition was “genius.” But it looks like this act was really just all satire after all.
Other than that, Paul is not an easy guy to find on social media. However, his cringeworthy audition remains one of the most memorable acts gone wrong of all time on any talent competition show.
